Matthew Vandermeulen obtained his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Buffalo (New York, United States) with a focus on genetics, signal transduction, cell biology, and molecular biology. He also has postdoctoral experience in the areas of genomics, sequencing, bioinformatics, and evolutionary biology. Before academia, he spent five years as a Registered Nurse.
