LPOR 14Laser & Photonics Reviews has a new look! The first issue with newly designed cover pages making full use of background covering pictures was released this month. “We realized that for a high-quality journal this kind of design is more attractive for authors because it provides more space to feature their work”, said Editor-in-Chief Guido Fuchs.  The new design emphasizes the important role of the authors by bringing out their work to its full extent using it as base for the cover design of the journal.  At the same time, with its new logo, the journal title LASER & PHOTONICS REVIEWS is introduced more vividly as a strong brand in optics.

Founded in 2007 as a review journal, Laser & Photonics Reviews extended its portfolio with original papers and letter articles in 2012. For the past few years the journal has been listed as one of the top optics journals in the Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Report and the number one choice for many researchers working in the field of optics, laser technology, optical materials, nanophotonics, biophotonics, integrated silicon photonics, optics in telecommunication and many other optics-related fields.

Word cloud build from keywords of published articles in Laser & Photonics reviews (2007 to 2013)The January issue is again a compilation of review articles, original papers and letter articles about current topics written by outstanding scientists. The review articles are about laser nanofabrication, fabrication of fiber Bragg gratings, semiconductor optical fibers, excitonics of semiconductor quantum dots and wires, bioluminescence tomography, and low-level light therapy. The word cloud (see figure) shows the topical diversity of the journal and is built from keywords of published articles in Laser & Photonics Reviews from 2007 to 2013. Interested authors are invited to submit their work via http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/lpr.  General information about the journal can be found here www.lpr-journal.org.
