Paderborn University honors K.-D. Hungenberg (BASF SE, Ludwigshafen) for research and teaching in polymer reaction technology.
New Technologies in Polymer Reaction Engineering

The University of Paderborn and the Institute for Polymer Materials and Processes have recognized the long-time activities and support of Klaus-Dieter Hungenberg (BASF SE, Ludwigshafen) in the field of polymer reaction engineering. For his achievements as a researcher and lecturer at the university, he now has been awarded the position of a honorary professor.

Polymer reaction technology investigates the synthetic conditions in “large” reactors and the simulation of polymerization processes. Such investigations allow an optimal control of production processes and resulting materials properties. Prof. Hungenberg’s research focuses on synthetic approaches that on the laboratory scale result in polymers with new and exciting properties, and then transferring the production to larger scales for new and innovative materials and their application.
