The ACS Division of Computers in Chemistry, in conjunction with the International Journal of Quantum Chemistry and the Journal of Computational Chemistry, presented poster awards at the 251st American Chemical Society National Meeting & Exposition. Six total Undergraduate Research Poster Prizes were awarded. The top 3 prizes were the ACS COMP/Wiley Outstanding Undergraduate Research Poster Prize. The three top winners received $100 from the ACS COMP division and a $250 book voucher from Wiley. The other 3 winners were awarded $100 from the ACS COMP division.
The top 3 winners were:
- Mathew Koebel from St. Louis College of Pharmacy for his poster entitled: A new and improved scoring function for AutoDock Vina, addressing sigma-hole interactions
- Miranda Boca from the University of Pittsburgh for her poster entitled: Accelerated piezoelectric evaluation (APE)
- Zachary Fallon from Adelphi University for his poster entitled: Characterization of the HLTV-1 rex peptide bound to an RNA aptamer
