Last week, Thomson Reuters announced the 2012 ISI impact factors. The Macromolecular journals could confirm their leading role in the field of polymer science.
Macromolecular Rapid Communications remains the highest Impact Factor communications journal in polymer science. For the seventh time in a row its impact factor increased, to a value of 4.929, consolidating its position as a top journal publishing original research in general polymer science.
Some of last year’s highlights which will be contributing to the MRC’s impact factor in 2013 can now be accessed for free!
- Haifeng Gao (University of Notre Dame, USA) explains how star polymers containing one central core surrounded by multiple radiating arms can to be used as unimolecular containers and reactors.
- C. Barner-Kowollik and Ozcan Altintas highlight the most recent progress in the area of single polymer chain folding, attempting towards mimicking the structure of natural biomacromolecules.
- The synthesis and polymerization of benzodithiophenes to generate semiconducting polymers used in organic field-effect transistors (OFET) and organic solar cells is reviewed by Mihaela C. Stefan.
Macromolecular Bioscience – the leading journal at the intersection of polymer and materials science with life sciences and medicine – reached again an excellent result with a new Impact Factor of 3.7, ranking it among the top 5 biomaterials journals and among the top 10 polymer journals.
