Stefan’s main responsibilities as Editor of the Macromolecular journals focus on the titles Macromolecular Materials & Engineering, Macromolecular Theory & Simulations, and Macromolecular Reaction Engineering. Further activities and responsibilities include technical and workflow questions, as well as editorial/database applications. Stefan is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Polymer Science.

He studied chemistry at the University of Mainz, Germany, and received his Ph.D. in 1995 from the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, for his work on solid-state NMR investigations on polymeric systems under the guidance of H.-W. Spiess. In 1997, Stefan joined the Macro team.

What is your favorite activity outside of work? Playing chess and listening to loud music – typically not at the same time…
