The 2018 Journal Citation Reports have been released, and the 2017 impact factors (IFs) for selected physics journals are available here. Read below for highlights.
physica status solidi (RRL) Rapid Research Letters has increased its IF by 23% to a new record value of 3.721, confirming its position as a top platform for publications in materials, condensed matter, and applied physics.
physica status solidi (a): Applications and Materials Science has increased its IF to 1.795, with its success attributed to the recent Nobel prize topic nitride light-emitting diodes among other cutting-edge semiconductor device research. physica status solidi (b): Basic Solid State Physics has also experienced an increase, to 1.729.
Annalen der Physik, one of the most prestigious publications worldwide, remains among the top 10 journals publishing original research in physics, with an IF of 2.557 and a strongly increased immediacy index of 1.525 (+58%), reflecting emerging fields such as many-body localization and Nobel-Prize-winning research on gravitational waves.
Laser & Photonics Reviews continues to be one of the leading journals in the area, covering the range of photonics and laser physics from recent breakthrough research to specific developments and novel applications. The journal celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017 and has once again increased its IF to 8.529.
