by | Aug 9, 2017

Nominate a colleague for the Biopolymers Murray Goodman Memorial Prize, awarded for accomplishments in biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, biophysics and/or chemical biology.

Inaugurated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Biopolymers, and now in its fifth year, the Murray Goodman Memorial Prize is presented in honour of the Founding Editor of the journal.  The award recognises outstanding accomplishments in one or more of the areas of biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, biophysics and/or chemical biology.  The Prize consists of a symposium in association with the Division of Biological Chemistry (BIOL) of the American Chemical Society at the 2018 ACS Spring Meeting, and a $10,000 prize.

Nominations for the award should contain a statement of 1,000 words or fewer written by the nominator, detailing the research accomplishments of the nominee and explaining why their research deserves recognition, as well as an up-to-date version of the nominee’s current CV.  Two letters of support should also be provided, including one from the primary nominator.  Please send all nominations to the Editor-in-Chief of Biopolymers, Dr Hilary Crichton, [email protected].

Past awards were given to scientists exploring exciting new aspects of biopolymer systems: Jennifer A. Doudna, Joan A. Steitz, Steven G. Boxer and Laura L. Kiessling.
